Jill (pictured right) is a Tahoe resident taking climate action for her community by offering a way for residents to divert their food scraps from the landfill more easily. She established a residential pilot program in November of 2022. The pilot program was successful, and with the help of her friend, Erica (pictured left), Jill officially launched Tahoe Composts as a nonprofit in 2024. Jill works a full-time jobs while running Tahoe Composts.

Jack makes our residential pick-ups go ‘round! He diverts hundreds of pounds of food waste from the landfill each month. Jack has a garden of his own at home, and he is committed to reducing waste in our community.
